The university takes its name from the 14th-century farmhouse “Turris Virgatae”, which belonged to the noble Annibaldi family of Rome, located below the Villa Gentile on campus. Founded in 1982, the University of Rome Tor Vergata is a state-supported university, half an hour from the center of Rome. The university is located in the southeastern suburb of Rome; it provides education in 27 departments in total, including economics, engineering, medicine, economics, law, literature and various fields. Department of Engineering Science
The university does not require participation in the university entrance exam organized by the state for enrollment in the engineering science program. Evaluation is made upon the application of the student, taking into account the grades of secondary school mathematics and science courses. Must have at least B2-level English proficiency.
