Polytechnic University of Turin (Polito) <\/strong>is one of the oldest technical universities in Italy which was\u00a0founded in 1859, providing education in fields as architecture, engineering and industrial design. Despite officially founded in the 20th century, it has been around for a very long time.<\/p>\r\n

The University, which today owns the Valentino Castle,\u00a0started to establish its foundations from 1859 by hosting the Technical School of Engineers. For more than 150 years, Politecnico di Torino has been one of the most prestigious public institutions in fields of architecture and engineering, education, research, technology, both at international and national level. It is also known as international research institution in Italy and Europe, attracting students from more than 100 countries and carrying out around 800 collaborations with industries, public institutions and local organizations every year.<\/p>\r\n

In the early 20th century, the university began to reach higher positions. It has strengthened its links with both the European scientific community and local and national industries, and its new laboratories, from chemistry to architecture, provide students with state-of-the-art training. University students are trained far beyond technical knowledge and are able to manage the interdisciplinary nature of today’s scientific world taking into account the social, ethical, economic and environmental impact.<\/p>\r\n

The university also runs a sustainable campus project. It aims to raise awareness in individuals for a more sustainable future. It changes the awareness of social role in society.<\/p>\r\n
